Douglas A. Moorhead, Psy.D. is a limited license-doctoral psychologist. He has worked in the field of psychology with adolescents and adults for over 25 years. Dr. Moorhead’s extensive training and experience provides a base for addressing faith formation, addictions, depression, anxiety, mental illness, abuse, substance abuse, trauma, loss, marital, pre-marital and family issues.
He has completed psychological evaluations for adolescents and adults. Dr. Moorhead works from a holistic perspective believing we are created for healthy relationships and purposeful living. He has a heightened passion for healthy marriages and families. He conducts 12-week premarital counseling courses helping couples avoid the pitfalls common to marriages. Having been a pastor for over ten years, he has seen the impact of choices and unhealthy beliefs as they impact lifestyles, careers, relationships, and coping skill choices. He has worked with sex offenders, sexual abuse victims, and addictions in inpatient and outpatient settings. Dr. Moorhead has a Doctorate and a Master’s degree in clinical psychology from Rosemead School of Psychology at Biola University in California with a primary focus on marriage and adults. He also earned a Master’s of Education degree in Guidance and Counseling from Slippery Rock State University primarily focused on children and adolescents. His undergraduate degree is from Penn State University in psychology. He is also in private practice at Compassionate Christian Counseling in Spring Lake, Michigan.
